Well, it seems like it’s been a really long time since I
wrote something for you. Fortunately, my work has not been as busy
as the first part of the year, and I am somewhat happy about that,
because I needed a break. When you work relentlessly for a while,
you sometimes forget about the important things that made you get
started on the first place and that is not always cool. Therefore,
I had this dramatic change in the later part of the year and it
feels all right. But time is coming for me to get on top of things
again, and I am ready for it.
Let me just tell you first what I did with my spare time while
I was on vacation with my family.
I went to Venezuela and spend a few days with my Mom and Dad and
my sisters, just for 5 days. Then my Mom, one of my sisters the
kids and I went to Madrid where my sister lives with her husband.
The summer was hot in Europe so we spent most of our long days by
the pool playing with the kids and being lazy. It was great. Then,
by the end of July, when my brother in law had his vacation, we
went on a cruise on the Mediterranean. Wow, that was something else,
let me tell you. We flew from Madrid to Athens and from there we
went on board of the Aegean (nice boat) for 6 days. It’s one
of those cruises where you go from place to place and get to see
many things in a few days. It was nice, especially spending time
with my family since I only get to see them a few times a year.
Some of the places we visited were Mikonos, Crete, Rhodes, Santorini
and a port in Turkey called Ephesus. Wow, what a trip. And what
a treat it was.
These are some of the most beautiful places I have seen in my
life (not that I’ve seen many) but this was something else.
Santorini especially is like a fantasy island. I don’t have
enough words to tell you how beautiful this place is, but some of
these photos will help you understand.
Gorgeous. That is a good word to describe it. Then we went back
to Athens for 2 days. Athens didn’t seem as beautiful and
had more of the things you usually find in big cities, traffic,
chaos, pollution, etc. So I just went to the Acropolis, which is
very, very impressive and hung out by the pool at the hotel.
That was quite a trip we did, I am happy I have to enjoy that
with my family.
Then we headed back to Madrid and spent the rest of my time there
in the same quiet way. I did have time to look around the city and
visit some places of interest, but I have been there before many
times, so it was nothing like the trip to Greece. Here are some
more pix for you.

Then it was time for me to return to NY and back to work. I got
back on August 9 and had a quiet and uneventful birthday
on August 13. Thank you all who remembered and wrote to me or called.
That was sweet.
Then we had the awful blackout the day after my birthday and that
was unusual, to say the least, but you know all about it, don’t
you?
The first week of September, I started a week engagement at the
Gaiety. That went fine, as usual and I had a chance to meet photographer
Paul and did some great photos on the Jersey Shore (Sandy Hook).
There will be a gallery of our work on the members’ area coming
soon, but I have some snapshots for you to sample. Aren’t
these great?
That same week the October issue of Unzipped
magazine came out and had me on the cover along
with a great interview and spread that you can now see here on my
website.
If you have not seen it, check it out here.
