2005 Year in Review

After a very long pause on the development of this page, I resume now nearing the end of the year for a briefing on what was good and bad about 2005.

Last time I wrote this section I started telling you about my association with Raging Stallion as an exclusive model.

It's has been well publicized and talked about during the year, but there are a few details that are worth mentioning about this; even though it was on November 2004 that we decided to start an exclusive engagement, for most of 2005 there have been several releases with other companies besides RG. This happens for different reasons: post production schedules sometimes are delayed, or distribution companies pick up some titles but not others, sometimes there are "glitches" in the production slowing down the whole process, etc. So that is why there were so many titles, in which I have appeared, that were not from Raging Stallion. Besides that, our contract is non restrictive, meaning I can work for other companies too, as long as they acknowledge that they are 'borrowing me' from them (Raging Stallion). So, for 2005, this is the complete list of videos I did:

1. Going Deep Down Under (Pistol Media/ Raging Stallion)
2. Passport to Paradise (Raging Stallion)
3. Centurion Muscle (Raging Stallion)
4. The Hard Way (Hot House)
5. Working Men (Private Men, this was shot a long time ago in Barcelona Spain, while I was there on vacation during 2002, and it's just this year that this video sees the light)
6. Chasing Tail (Originally from Latin Pacific Entertainment, now defunct, it's been picked up by Channel One Releasing)
7. Bonesucker (Sinergy Films)
8. Hole Sweet Hole (From Raging Stallion, this one still hasn't hit stores yet)
9. Fuck Flik (also from Raging Stallion, this is a compilation of previous work re-edited and re-packaged under a name)

I believe this will be that last release of the year with my name attached to it, but, I can't be sure until the year is over. As you can see, as a performer, you are not entirely aware of what the production companies are doing with the material they shoot of you, for which, of course, they have complete and total ownership once the Model Released has been signed.

There was also another release on DVD from our (and many other models too) extensive photo shoots with photographer Lorenzo Gomez, but this is more of a 'behind the scenes' of an artistic-erotic photo shoot and the interaction between the models.  That comes along with the release of the photographer's second book published by Bruno Gmunder's company, and of course, leave it up to me to deliver the raciest performance of all...because, even when I am not performing, it is a show to watch!!!

Besides that, my very first movie, directed and starred by me is finally ready. It goes by the title:

Carlos Morales Home Movies Vol.1: EXPOSED.

It's available for sale here on my website, as long as many other DVDs on the store page, but this one you will not be able to get anywhere else. That is a major accomplishment, and the best part is that the second volume "Revealed" is in the finishing stages of post-production, with most of the scenes already shot.
So you can add those titles to my extensive career too.

Another one of my associations for 2005 was with David Forest, the infamous star agent. Many people have asked me why I would want to work with him if I had already done much of my porn career on my own, why would I need an agent.
The answer is simple: I haven't met many people who know this business as well as he does. If there is something Mr. Forest can do is to get you work. In his many years in the industry he has catapulted to stardom many new faces and made connections to countless resources of adult entertainment and live show reviews, so yes, I could use his knowledge and experience too. And I am happy I have

Another one of the highlights of the year is Madrigal's and the city of Chicago with four full week engagements on 2005 at the famous bar in Andersonville. It has been quite good working there and getting to know as many people as I did.

After a brief scare of Madrigal's possibly closing early in January 2006, we received the latest news from Juan Nieves, the owner of Madrigal's, that the club is going to remain in business.

I've said it many times here on my web site, and I can't stress this enough, Madrigal's is one of the best strip joints left
in the United States (especially after the demise of the Gaiety Theater in NYC in the early summer of 2005) and it has been a great opportunity to meet people and promote my latest videos.

Shortly I will be announcing the schedule for the 2006 season, and you can expect all the major gay holidays covered (IML, Gay Pride, Market Days, Halloween, etc.).  I will let you know the details soon...

As for Rentboy.com goes, this is one of the things that basically came to an end due to exhaustion, not mine, but the work we were doing. We have been doing back to back promotions and live appearances since 2003. Some of the events that took place in 2005 were new experiences for me and for which I am grateful too. Like

The White Party in Palm Springs. That was a total success.  Look at these pictures in which they painted our bodies (Tommy Ritter and I) for a Jeffrey Sanker benefit to kick off the White Party Celebrations.

As well as a promotion at Re Bar in San Diego:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We attended The Phoenix Forum, a webmasters conference of porn internet honchos and porn stars. It was pretty cool by the pool with Steven Richards and many other of us behaving badly on the pool…
We also danced at Phoenix Gay Pride Parade Festival and also had time for a little get together on a local bar in town
The Phoenix Forum & Phoenix Gay Pride Parade Festival  last spring in Arizona.
And in NYC @ The Black Party & Gay Consumer Expo
So we pretty much did everything we could together as far as work goes, and moved on. My personal relationship with Tom Weise is unspoiled and we are still the best of friends.
And that means no promotions or live shows with www.rentboy.com anytime soon. After 3 years of work in many cities (Miami, NY, Chicago, LA, San Diego, Phoenix, Berlin[twice] and Sydney) and years of free advertising for my website, I think we did pretty well. Cheers Tom, here is to you…
Two other events that took place this year happened in Toronto, which I never visited before.
The first of them came via www.maleflixxx.com, for the launching of the first gay porn channel on cable T.V. (Rogers).
Michael Brandon and I were there to help boost the event and bring some notoriety/raunch to the launch party.
There was also a personal appearance and signing at Priape, the largest Canadian porn retailer.
The second gig in Toronto was for thier notorious Gay Pride. Prism Productions had a very long weekend of events and they brought in talent from all over. Names included Boy George, Peter Rauhofer, Tony Moran, Circuit Mom, local drag sensation Sofonda, I and many others.  I came to provide adult entertainment at the Bootcamp Party @ Kool House, to the sounds of DJ Able. Click here for information.
Then on Sunday I was asked to participate on the very famous Gay Pride Parade. I was delighted to be there, I had a great time, plus, I was on the cover of a local paper...who knew?
************************************************************
In July I did my first engagement with for David Forest Entertainment, in Ohio. There were two bars, one in Cleveland (Bounce) and the other one in Columbus (Axis). Both went great and a chance again to meet people and places I never when to before.
Micky's
Also, in late July I went to L.A. to be in the show "Cocktails with the Stars", at Micky's, on West Hollywood. The show hosted by Jason Curious was a total success. This was my second appearance on it; the first one was back in March 2003. There were fans, industry people, DVD giveaways and of course the dirty interview. Jason Curious has also started his own production company, bringing in a lot of his straight porn star friends into the business. You can check Jason's web site for the latest news.
NYC
As far as my own hometown, NYC, there were a few events for this year. The first of them was a benefit party for Immigration Equality, an organization that helps people deal with immigration status in the U.S. This was their annual Valentine's Day gala and they asked me to DJ for the event. Finally my DJ career is starting to take off. With so much to do, is hard to keep track of what's new in music, but years of go-go dancing and my collector's addiction has helped me put together a great selection of music.
They enjoyed the event and I received very good reviews. Stay tuned for the upcoming event gala scheduled for April 27, 2006 and a chance for you to be part of a great event and check out my music, so don't miss it!
Then, in April there was a release party for Raging Stallion's Passport to Paradise at Splash Bar.
Aaron Tanner, who works there now as a promoter, hosted the event. There were hardcore shows, magazine and photo signing and DVD giveaways.
The New York crowd is never easy to please, and I learned that before from my many years as a stripper there, but they've never seen Carlos Morales quite like this.
Fortunately, my friend and photographer Jonathan Lane was there to capture the action that was taking place onstage, and believe me, shows like this never happened before at Splash, not when I was a go-go dancer. But of course, the bar business has changed so much that they are willing to risk a little bit more in order to have the audience happy, and keep them in.
Then in August 28th, I did another DJ gig. Michael Fesco has this party called Sea Tea. Is a tea dance every Sunday evening on a boat on the Hudson River in NYC.
 I have talked about his parties before, I started there as a dancer and then moved on to performer (because the boat isn't docked the shows there can carry on a bit more, I have pictures from previous year here on my website). But this was the first time there as a DJ. It was a great experience, and I received a lot of compliments on my music and several messages posted on my guestbook for that. That was a real treat for me, one that I am very proud of. Thank you to all who attended for jumping up and down to my beats.
The only sour note came the next morning, when we all woke up to terrible news: Katrina had destroyed a big part of the gulf coast... :(
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Then, on October 24th, I did a release party for Sinergy's Bonesucker.
 Maxxon Scott asked me to do this promotion for him back in September, but due to previous engagements I had to ask him to move it forward, closer to Halloween.
He did so, and it worked well.
He received several titles from Michael Lucas that I am in (Vengeance, Restless, Strangers of the Night, Fire Island Cruising) and 20 copies of brand new DVD Bonesucker. This is the movie that has received the best reviews of the year and
top notch grades from most critics. Arpad Miklos and I worked flawlessly together, and we had fun too. There were
DVD giveaways, plenty of them and we also collected funds from the sale of Bonesucker for Katrina Relief. Thanks to Sinergy Films for donating the product to make this possible.
Years End
As the year comes to an end, there are still some projects I had a chance to do. Two new movies were filmed just last week in San Francisco.
Hot House came first.David Lamb is now a hired director working for Steven Scarborough. He is in charge of the ‘nastier’ film projects and directing part 2 of the new “Twisted” series. This was called appropriately “Too Twisted”. Once again I had
the challenge to bring forth the hottest scene of the production (so I was told), a very long and nasty session with Nick Capra and Dereck Hanson with dildo, fisting, W/S, and other delights. The shoot took over 12 hours (the longest ever, in my career), we were wondering how long the scene was actually going to be in the final cut. We were told by David that no longer than 35 minutes. It seemed to be quite long for a 35 minute long scene, but we managed to get by and not kill each other in the meantime.
The second one is for Raging Stallion, for Michael Brandon’s own Monster Bang. Michael is such a pal of mine now that working for him is a real pleasure, and the whole team at Raging Stallion is like my family, so even though working with Remmy Delane, whom I met last year in Sydney during the Sleazeball, wasn't as pleasurable as it was when we first met, we managed to get along and get the video made, and I want to say it was mostly due to Michael Brandon's brilliant direction.
This one will be an important release for Monster Bang/Raging Stallion in the upcoming year, and it will feature me prominently, and that always makes it a bit easier for me.
A very large cast and serious fucking and oral sex, as it usually are for the Monster Bang releases. I had scenes with Remmy, Troy Punk, Owen Hawk and Tamas Eszterhazy (another Hungarian import of high quality, much like Arpad Miklos). The tentative name of this production is "Carlos in Wonderland". I will let you know the details as soon as they are available.
Well, there you have it.
I just want to say one more thing before is all over, thank you again for your unconditional support, it really means a lot to me and makes me want to go on more and more.
Thank you; you know who you are…!!!
 Happy Holidays and A Great New Year for 2006!!!
Until the next time,
Carlos Morales
